1. Your control
You can accept or reject non-essential cookies on first visit through our cookie banner. You can change your mind at any time by clicking Manage cookies in the footer of any page. You can also delete cookies through your browser settings — but doing so will sign you out and reset your preferences.
2. Categories we use
2.1 Strictly necessary (always on)
Without these the platform cannot operate, so the law lets us set them without consent.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Owner |
|---|---|---|---|
authjs.session-token | Keeps you signed in | 30 days | insight (NBS) |
authjs.csrf-token | Protects sign-in forms against CSRF attacks | Session | insight (NBS) |
authjs.callback-url | Returns you to the right page after sign-in | Session | insight (NBS) |
insight_cookie_consent | Stores your cookie preference choice so we don't re-prompt | 12 months | insight (NBS) |
2.2 Functional (optional)
Remember your interface preferences so insight feels familiar across visits.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Owner |
|---|---|---|---|
insight.ui-prefs | Collapsed sections, last opened tab, theme choice | 12 months | insight (NBS) |
2.3 Analytics (optional)
Anonymous, aggregated measurement of usage so we can improve insight. We do not sell or share this data.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Owner |
|---|---|---|---|
| None set today | insight currently runs no third-party analytics tags. If we add one (e.g. Plausible / self-hosted analytics) we will update this table and re-prompt for consent. | — | — |
2.4 Marketing (optional)
insight does not currently run ads, retargeting pixels, or any third-party marketing trackers. This category exists so the option is auditable. Nothing is set today.
3. Third-party cookies set when you use integrated services
If you use features that connect to a third party, that party may set its own cookies under its own privacy notice:
- Zoom when you join a class via Zoom — see zoom.us/cookies.
- Google / Facebook if you use single sign-on — see their respective cookie policies.
- Clearbit (company logos on the jobs board) — does not set cookies, only serves logo images.
4. How long cookies stay
Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay until they expire (durations listed above) or until you delete them. Our consent record refreshes every 12 months — after that, you'll see the banner again so we can confirm your choice is still current.
5. Changes to this policy
We update this list whenever we add or remove a cookie. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes that would alter what we collect trigger a fresh consent prompt.
